About Me!
My Grammie always tells the story of my first play. We went to see Romeo and Juliet when I was eight years old. Grammie says I laughed out loud as Romeo (spoiler alert) drank the poison. Then, as Juliet followed suit, I gave a passionate (and loud) death performance along with her from the theatre aisle. My Grammie says she knew then that I was a force to be reckoned with. Fortunately, I have learned about theatre etiquette since then, but my passion remains.
My acting roots are in Shakespeare. I have trained with Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London, Prague Shakespeare in the Czech Republic, and the Colorado Shakespeare Festival in my hometown. Some of my Shakespeare credits include Hamlet in Hamlet (Kairos Theatre), Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Nebraska Repertory Theatre), Richard III in Henry VI pt. 3 (Prague Shakespeare), and Hermione in The Winter’s Tale (Flatwater Shakespeare). I am an actor largely because I love delving into text work and studying my script. I believe this is a direct result of my extensive study of Shakespeare and other classical playwrights.
I graduated with a B.A. in Theatre Performance from the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. While there, I learned a variety of acting, voice, and movement techniques. I was also trained in Theatre Intimacy, and SAFD Certified in Unarmed, Knife, and Single-Sword combat.
Throughout my college career, I acted in multiple short films (If Walls Could Talk, The Breadman, Breakdown, Umbra, and Phloam). I was also the Vice President of the Lazzi improv troupe.
Since graduation, I have built a professional resume with roles including Annie in The Play That Goes Wrong (Lincoln Playhouse), W in COCK (OmniArts), and Desdemona in Desdemona: A Play About A Handkerchief (Flatwater Shakespeare). I have worked with an array of companies, genres, and venues.
I am a passionate actor, learner, and person. In my free time I listen to Purple Rain, dote on my cat, Maxine May Traxler, and read Sarah Kane’s plays. I am always pursuing performance. My love of acting lies in the necessity to commit. Above all, I am committed to the work, the performance, and the audience. If I ever find myself in the same circumstances as Juliet, I promise to give one hell of a death scene.
